AI Summit 2026 Positions Delhi at the Center of Global Technology Dialogue

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, held from February 16–20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, has emerged as a landmark global gathering on artificial intelligence, drawing more than 500 AI leaders, policymakers, researchers, and industry executives from across the world as India strengthens its position in the rapidly evolving AI landscape. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the summit, highlighting India’s vision of “AI for global common good” and emphasizing inclusive innovation, responsible development, and equitable access to advanced technologies, particularly for developing nations. The event featured high-level discussions on ethical AI governance, data security, infrastructure expansion, and the role of AI in sectors such as healthcare, education, finance, agriculture, and cybersecurity.

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced major collaborative initiatives under the New Delhi Frontier AI Impact Commitments, aimed at advancing multilingual AI systems, strengthening domestic research capabilities, and fostering partnerships between global technology companies and Indian startups. The summit also showcased the launch of sovereign Indian AI models designed to support regional languages and enhance voice and generative AI capabilities, underlining the country’s ambition to build self-reliant and culturally contextual AI ecosystems. With significant investment announcements for AI infrastructure, semiconductor development, and data centers, the summit reflected India’s growing influence in shaping global AI policy and innovation frameworks. Despite minor logistical challenges and heightened security measures across the capital, the event successfully positioned Delhi as a central hub for international collaboration on artificial intelligence and reinforced India’s commitment to leading the next wave of technological transformation.
